About Rebecca Teirney

Rebecca graduated from Auckland University with a BA/LLB (Hons) in 1993. Her honours thesis was on the Legal Status of Children born through Artificial Means.  She has a special interest in Fertility and Adoption.

Rebecca worked as a solicitor for three years in general practice at a well established Auckland law firm before leaving to travel overseas. While overseas Rebecca worked for the London Borough of Greenwich on child protection cases and employment. On returning to New Zealand, Rebecca rejoined her previous firm as a partner heading its Family, Employment and Estate teams.

Since 2010  Rebecca has practiced as a barrister specialising in all aspects of Family and Employment Law.

Rebecca is a member of the New Zealand Law Society and the Family Law Section NZLS and she is a moderator for NZ Institute of Professional Legal Studies.
